Function Description
The E/I Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance, fault finding and repairs of the equipment. E/I technicians will execute work according to planning co-ordinated by the maintenance coordinator, unless urgent work has to be executed.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare work orders for electrical and instrumental work,
- Coordinates his work with the Operators as appropriate.
- Ensures that all work is done in accordance with approved working procedures.
- Give service- and sub contractors electrical and instrumental support if needed,
- Conducts other various tasks not specified, as required by Maintenance coordinator or OIM.
- Marks up drawings after modifications and checks revised drawings.
- Responsible for correct use of supplied tools and equipment and the personal toolbox.
- Maintaining good housekeeping at the site.
- Reports all accidents / incidents / near misses and potential hazards immediately.
Administrative Tasks:
- Daily reporting of all electrical and instrumental work.
- Prepare material requests for E/I work,
- Keeps all relevant project files in good order.
Business Qualifications
Medium level technical education (MTS or equivalent).
Three years experience in E/I maintenance in the process industry (preferably oil & gas).
Skills and Competencies
Fully familiar with the computerized maintenance management system (Maximo).
VCA
ATEX certified
NEN-3140 Qualified person.
NEN-3140 Work responsible when required and appointed.
High Voltage qualified person when required and appointed.
Workable knowledge of office applications such as Word or Excel.
Knowledge of:
Metering systems
Control systems
Safeguarding systems
PLC’s
Dutch – Working knowledge
English – Working knowledge
HSE requirements:
- Comply with TAQA’s general safety rules, safety rules regarding his professional trade and the rules as per work procedure.
- Make sure that work permit instructions are fully respected.
- Ensure the use of protective equipment and clothing.
Working arrangements
Onshore: standard day shift and call-out as per schedule (travel time to site max 1 hour).
Offshore: 2 weeks on - 12 hour shifts. Leave as per schedule.
